Community Garden

Griffith University

Problem Statement:

Griffith’s Community Garden project addresses a huge opportunity to educate students about key SDGs, including responsible consumption, sustainable cities, climate action and good health and wellbeing. Providing university students with an accessible method of engaging with these concepts helps expand the reach of the goals and encourages action against food wastage and food miles.

Impact:

Students have access to a space they can use to relax and learn about how to prioritise their health and the health of the planet. The cooking and gardening sessions can improve students’ diets and confidence by improving their life skills and ability to live independently, without relying on fast food.
